Dr. Gregory Prince
Scientist, Historian, Author
Shaped by Truth: A Witness of Race, Faith, and God’s Work
Dr. Gregory Prince invites us into a candid and compelling conversation that traces his witness of the contours of race, faith, and institutional change in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Drawing on decades of personal experience, scholarly research, and friendship with pivotal figures such as Lester Bush and Darius Gray, Prince explores how one’s moral imagination is shaped by context—and how it can be reshaped by truth.
From his Southern California upbringing and early college years in Utah to missionary service in Brazil and a half-century of scientific work near the nation’s capital, Prince brings a rare blend of insider perspective and rigorous inquiry. His reflections offer a living chronology of the Church’s evolving relationship with race, culminating in a dialogue that not only honors past efforts for change but challenges us to embrace a future grounded in both historical accountability and doctrinal hope.
Through an engaging Q&A format, attendees will witness the unfolding of a faith that wrestles, reforms, and reaches—led by voices who dared to speak up, write truth, and invite a paradigm shift.
